Poem: The Orca and the Trainer
The Orca pulled his trainer with his teeth by her hair
Into the cold brine of his tank
Into his frigid lair
And underneath the water, he shook her like a rag
Her small body in his giant mouth
Before her corpse met the bag
It’d be wrong to suggest that it was anything to him but play
When he snuffed out her fire
When he took her away
The Orca must not have known that she wasn’t able to breathe
That he’d never frolic with her again
That her absence he would so grieve
Because if the Orca was aware that he’d make her go away
I highly doubt the Orca
Would have made her play that day
Into the cold brine of his tank
Into his frigid lair
And underneath the water, he shook her like a rag
Her small body in his giant mouth
Before her corpse met the bag
It’d be wrong to suggest that it was anything to him but play
When he snuffed out her fire
When he took her away
The Orca must not have known that she wasn’t able to breathe
That he’d never frolic with her again
That her absence he would so grieve
Because if the Orca was aware that he’d make her go away
I highly doubt the Orca
Would have made her play that day
